Far Far Away

So, for those who haven't heard, we are in the process of moving to Portland. Aliya and I are already here staying with our friends the Ganirs. Daniel will be coming to join us as soon as I can find an apartment/ job. I have been here since last Sunday. We drove out, ( a very very long drive, especially for Aliya), but we survived. I have to say it is GEORGEOUS here! Especially after leaving a very brown August Idaho. I am searching for jobs and apartments, hopefully something will pop up soon. In the meantime I am loving spending every day with Shanetta and her adorable girls, and Aliya is loving having playmates and a more baby-proof place to play. Well, I'll keep you posted on what happens. Cross your fingers for us!

Happy Birthday Aliya!

My baby turned 1 year old on the 16th, I can hardly believe it!  Aliya had a great birthday.  She played with baloons, went to the splash park, ate a cupcake (part of it anyway, she didn't know what to make of the frosting), opened presents, and Grandpa Kotter and Grandma Susie came to visit.  It was a lovely day.  I can't believe how the time has flown, people told me it would but I don't think you can really grasp it until it happens.  I finally got more pics added YAY!

Picture Time!

So, I finally downloaded a bunch of pics so I'm just going to post some with captions. (My apologies, I can't get them to flip upright, if  anyone can help with that, I'd appreciate it.) Enjoy!Aliya & Grandma Susie on her first visit to the zoo! (that's a camel behind them if you can't tell.)

Darn computers!

So much for posting more often. I wish our darn computer would let me do this from home. It is finals time at BYU-I so I am forced to do this in the library where I can't access the pictures on my camera to add the ones to go with this post. Argh! Anyway... Aliya and I recently returned from a trip to Portland to see my bff Shanetta and her little family and my sister Elisabeth. Sadly we didn't get to see much of my sis due to drama with schedules and transporting baby, but we had a great time. Hopefully I'll get the pics uploaded soon. We went to the zoo in Tacoma (it's a long story but the gist is we thought it was closer than it was and didn't bother to check a map, a very long day for mommies and babies, we will invest in a map next time) which was amazing! We also took the kids to the water park which they totally loved. Mostly though we just hung out. Aliya loves playing with the "big kids" and wants to do everything they do. She may just start walking to keep up with them.

Daniel recently went on a trip for school to Salt Lake. They went to a bunch of museums and a big art show which was super fun for him. When we all got back we took off to Island park for the fourth of July. Aliya did pretty well with the fireworks, she was a bit fussy but mostly just because it was way past her bedtime.

Graduation is rapidly approaching (NEXT FRIDAY!!!!) I'm more excited than Daniel is I think. He is ready to be done, yet hesitant about entering the real world and all that jazz (I don't blame him). Well, I'm including some random pics just because they're cute. Love to all!
